  1. Hello!
So I'm going to talk about New Zealand. New Zealand was settled by Polynesians seven hundred years ago and found in 1642 by an European explorer, Abel Tasman. Then it became an English colony in 1840 by the Treaty of Waitangi. It became a member of the Commonwealth in 1931. I choose this nation because during the 1890s a series of laws turned the nation as the most socially advanced state in the world. Women obtained the right of voting in 1893 (and they were the first in the world).
    Bye bye

  2. Hello !
The country I'm going to talk about is Canada. Even though Vikings were the first Europeans to discover Canada, in the 11th century, the country was settled in the 15th and 16th centuries by Europeans, notably the French explorer Jacques Cartier. Canada became a french colony (its first name was "New France"). But it was conquered by the British at the end of the Seven Years War (in 1763) and it was integrated into the British Empire. It was one of the founding member countries of the Commonwealth in the 1920s, with other British "dominions" like New Zealand and Australia. I chose this country as it is a rather unusual one : indeed, two different languages, English and French, are spoken in Canada, and two cultural communities coexist in the same country.

    1. I made a mistake : I should have said "Canada became a French colony".

  4. I choose Australia, because it's a very interesting country. The Constitution entered into force on January 1, 1931. So Australia is a founder member of the Commonwealth and it's an important member because Australia is the largest island in the contemporary world. This is very important for Australian, we see it because the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Australia is one of the national constitutions Law of Australia. Moreover, Australian voted by referendum to accept or not this new part of their Constitution. English parliament also voted this text.
