In Serbia, a teenager opened fire in a school in Belgrade and killed at least 9 people. The shooter, a 14-year-old student, was quickly arrested by the police. At least eight students and a guard were killed. We don't know the cause yet.

The occurrence of daily shootings by kids around the world is a deeply concerning issue. This show the complex interplay of various factors such as access to firearms, societal influences, mental health, and inadequate support systems , the phenomenon calls for a comprehensive approach involving stricter gun control measures, improved mental health support, education on conflict resolution. Addressing this problem requires a collective effort from governments, communities, and individuals to ensure the safety and well-being of our young generation.

ReplyDeleteI think violence is too normalized these days. Indeed, young people are too influenced by social networks and video games. I also think that confinement has affected the morale of many children who have now become teenagers. this confinement made them more nervous and likely to commit serious acts. In this shooting, the young boy has destroyed victims life and his by the same occasion.

I think the shootings have become far too frequent. The world is becoming more and more scary because people are no longer afraid of killing people or using excessive violence. I notice a wave of violence among young people. Which is very disturbing. Indeed, nowadays, teenagers are less and less afraid of the police and the punishments that could be inflicted on them. More and more young children or teenagers use bladed weapons to fight, solve their trivial problems of children or even go so far as to use firearms. They doesn’t think of the damage they will cause in the lives of their victims, or the damage they will cause in their own families and the pain they will inflict. I think that this violence is due to social networks which trivialize and make comical fights or violent acts but also I think that violent video games with weapons, participate in the trivialization of violence. this umpteenth killing, just makes me feel pain and fear for the generations to come.
