You may have heard about Elon Musk's new project. He’s planning to send the first group of people on Mars and create a first colony. This project is both dangerous and very opportunistic. What do you think about it?
Hello, first of all, I indeed heard about Elon Musk's project. In my humble opinion, this project seems a bit optimistic and too dangerous actually. I think that we don't have the technological resources to do it, we only send some robots on Mars and no human being went there. This project will probably occur, but in some decades, now, it's impossible. Also, I think that even if we can do it, not a lot of people will do it: the travel will last for a very long time, the distance between Mars and the Earth is about 76 000 000 Km, it's incredible. Not a lot of astronauts will accept this mission I think.
Hello, I have to agree with Bilel, the mission is far too dangerous given the technological resources and knowledge about Mars we currently possess. I believe that we will be able to launch such a perilous project once we understand more about Mars itself and more about the dangers of the trip. We don't know what will happen to the human mind once the Earth is out of sight or how it would react to the extremely long journey. And I personally think that anyone willing to go on such a mission now is out of their right mind.
Hi, Well, yes, I’ve heard about Elon Musk’s project to send humans to planet Mars in 2024. And we all know that this mission looks infeasible for health and economic reasons; it also requires some huge technical resources. However, Elon Musk showed us in the past that he was capable of creating crazy futuristic stuff that are now used every day. That indeed proves his ability to make the impossible possible. It is with that kind of mad projects that humanity will improve in a good way.
I think , this is a project that could really help us if our planet continues to be so polluted and damaged. And it would not be impossible and it would be a project used as a "last resort". But on the other hand I think it would really be a project at risk and it looks scary because taking a trip in space is not without risk and live on a planet where no human has ever lived ... We can not know all that could happen. So for my part if we had the choice I would prefer to stay on Earth, at my peril.
Elon Musk's project is a good idea to go further in humanity's great project, which is the colonization of space. But to consider such an early space travel is, in my opinion, too presumptuous. Despite major advances in this sector, problems such as: fuel, travel time, uncertainty about the survival of the rocket crew, and the important cost remain.
Indeed the biggest problem is that it might be very complicated to find (crazy) volunteers to make such an ambitious trip.
But fortunately for humanity, in a few years, I will be a great aerospace engineer and I will resolve all these problems.
More seriously, I think we'll be able to go to other planets but not at the moment.

First, a lot of people could leave Earth for Mars so there would be less people on our planet and less pollution. Therefore, it would maintain or lower Earth's climate. Moreover, it would be helpful if we can't live on our planet anymore because we would have another planet to live on. To conclude, in my opinion Elon Musk's project is a good idea because it would be a valuable solution to all the climate problems we are fighting for.
Hello, I think this project is very interesting, perhaps even the most interesting for a very long time. Overconsumption and pollution are slowly destroying our planet. Elon Musk is a mad inventor who wants to do everything that seems impossible. Even though the project is dangerous and still at the beginning of its design, I think that thanks to innovation this kind of project that look unrealistic can succeed. In addition, I see a similarity between this project and the space race between the United States and the USSR during the Cold War, because these two countries have braved all risks and have developed rockets and satellites that are always more efficient. There have been many fatal accidents but innovation has continued and I think these sacrifices have served a great and noble cause.

Mars, because of the water that has been found on its surface, could be an alternative planet to Earth and we know that if global warming does not stop, our planet could no longer be habitable. The existence of an alternative planet would then be a very good discovery. To conclude, even if this projects looks dangerous and optimistic, I believe that we need to hope that this kind of project will be a success.
