  1. This is a story about a doctor named Jekyll who is doing weird experiments. Suddenly, he's got a bad side named Hyde. Things get complicated as he deals with good versus bad and the problems that come with playing around with human nature. This story, from 1886, is about the space between right and wrong.
All along the story has a suspense which doesn’t make the readers bored.
I really appreciate this story, there were passages that made me think, moreover I had liked the way that it was written.

  2. Overall, I enjoyed reading this short novel. I liked the actions of Mr Utterson, he seems like a friend who's always here to Dr Jekyll, and Mr. Lanyon. Furthermore, I think it is written in simple, accessible words (even though you can identify the 'fancy' British vocabulary right away!). However, the plot twist was really predictible, given the note before the story begins. That really spoiled me the ending, but on the other hand, it helped me trough the activites.

  4. It was my first book in English. I really liked this experience even though I don't usually like to read. It was a rather special story with Dr. Jekyll's drugs, body and different personalities. But I liked this book.

  5. I really appreciate "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" written by Robert Louis Stevenson, published in 1886.

This book is one of the best novels that I have ever read. I liked almost everything about it such as the soothing atmosphere, the intelligent characters and its historical values. The atmosphere was intriguing, very detailed and warm, while reading I felt like I was in the story with the characters because the atmosphere of London at that time was well written. For example the moment when Utterson and his cousin Mr. Enfield walked through the deserted and narrow side streets showed the injustice of social classes, including the little boy selling newspapers. I rarely have read stories narrated from the point of view of the wealthy class, so I was curious about their thoughts and way of life. I particularly enjoyed the scenes when Mr. Utterson was in front of the wood fire sipping tea or discussing Jekyll's peculiar scientific research with Dr. Lanyon.

My favorite character was Dr. Jekyll a doctor and a member of the royal ociety, he is also know for his genius. I admired the way he was described, he was mysterious and possessing strange ideas like separating his two personalities. To me his was really realistic and that made him incredibly interesting. I found it intriguing how emotional he was and at the same time he was a sadistic criminal when he transformed into Mr. Hyde. For example, he cried while talking with Mr. Utterson in his home about Mr. Hyde, but as Hyde he killed without pity Mr. Danvers Carew with a cane.

I also appreciated Mr. Utterson : a serious and elegant lawyer who always looked out for his close friends. For example, when he discovered the second part of the cane in Hyde's room and realized it belonged to Jekyll, he didn't wanted the police to accuse his friend. He did everything in his power to help him.

In conclusion, i enjoyed this novel as i felt a lot of emotions while reading it. The end was really sad and I was sad to finish it. This book reminded me of another untitled "Frankenstein" written by Mary Shelley in 1818. This book explore similar themes in the same century.
