Yes, I think that skipping class is cheating when a test is announced because the students who do this are aware that they will certainly be able to have the answers of the subject through other students and these students who skip will have more time to "revise" what is unfair to us. I find this dishonest on the part of these students because by doing this, they betray the teacher's trust and therefore, logically, the teachers will have negative ideas about students who skip class to cheat.
First of all, a person who plays truant for a test means that this person had deliberately made the choice to be absent on the day of the test. So, is playing truant when the test is announced considered as cheating ?
As far as I am concerned, I do think that it can be seen as a form of cheating. Indeed, people who do that intentionally make the choice of being absent in order to not attend the test that they might fail, therefore it is cheating. Furthermore, since the test was announced, it doesn't matter what the reason of the absence was, because they always have a thousand and one excuses, it is considered as cheating. Moreover, it is quite unfair to people who came and did the test, because they might have a bad grade and truants won't have the grade they deserved, so, it is cheating.
To conclude, I think that to play truant is a form of cheating, and that truants have to face the consequences of their act because they can't do that, and I don't think that colleges will appreciate that. One should keep in mind that absentees are always wrong !
If it is really premeditated not to come to a test witch as been planned i think that yes, it is bad, but you are not necessarily going to tcheat because anyway your teatcher is going to have a bad opinion of you and gives you a zero. The problem is that in that case there is no proof that it was playing truant, and some students were maybe ill or had, too, a long planned important rendez vous for their health or « journée défense » as those three cases happened to me this year.
When a test is announced, to play truant is of course a main to cheat. That’s why I think that the teacher must punish student who play truant when a test is announced. On the one hand is irrespect full towards the teacher and on the other hand when you come back in class at the next class, I think that the teacher must catch up the test and of course with a malus. Hello, We could say playing truant is either cheating or not. On the one hand, there are people who don’t want to pass a test, so they decide to play truant because they will be marked « missing » and they believe it is better than get a bad grade. There are also people who hope to get another test because they’ll have more time to study. But both types of people cheat, because a test is meant to be done by everyone under the same conditions. But on the other hand, there are people who simply don’t care about lessons, and they would have played truant anyway. In this case, it isn’t even a question of cheating or not. To conclude, it depends on the context but I consider that most of the time playing truant is a form of cheating.
I think that if we are sick or have an appointment it is understandable but not to come to class because there is control it is cheating and it is not done for students present. Chennouf ymene 2nd6
I think that playing hooky is a form of cheating because the person who does this does not respect the rules and knows very well what he is doing and I also find it very dishonest on the part of these students because they are betraying their teacher and disrespecting them.
