Hello ! You may have heard about Meghan and Harry’s decision. Last Wednesday, they announced that they wanted to leave the royal family because they wanted to become financially independant. What do you think about their decision? And why do you think they chose it?
This week we’ve heard a lot about Meghan and Harry’s decision. Some people say that it’s a good this that they want to be financially independent, but others think that it’s not respectful to the royal family because they have paid for a lot of things for Harry and Meghan (for example their wedding). In my opinion, they should do what ever they want, if they want to move out it’s their choice, if that makes them happy then why would we complain ? I think it’s a really hard and big decision so we should all respect this choice.

First, they would have chosen that because they want live a life without royal protocol.
Then it could be about medias, they don't want stay in this "fake world" where a lot of thing is false and rumors.
It could be related with their baby, they would like Archie to grow up normally and don't mingle with royalty, so preserve their child.
Or they just want be independant to have a "normal life" and evolve by themselves.
So I think it's a good thing for them because they distance themselves from royalty, and maybe it's good for baby's education.
But if every royal person did this, there could be no descendants after Queen Elizabeth II.

ReplyDeleteIf you ask me, Meghan and Harry's decision was the best one to make for their family. Indeed since Meghan has become a member of the royal family and thus the Duchess of Sussex, she has been harassed restlessly by the British press on the one hand, and also by her own close circle on the other hand. She was subjected to a lot of anxiety during her pregnancy, and there are rumours of tensions between the prince William and Harry on this subject. What upsets me the most is that she had to make a lot of sacrifices to marry Harry such as stopping her career for instance, but her new responsitibilies were not ease by the pressure of the demanding press.
That's why I find it truly romantic that her husband decided to abandon his duties for the welfare of his family, although he was not destined to become king if one follows the order of royal succession. Moreover, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not disrespecting the Queen in my view as they are leaving for Canada under her crown, a member of the Common Wealth. It is also an act of modern rebellion that reminds me of Princess Diana.

My opinion is he take a good decision , it change a little bit with Royal Family in Buckingham Palace .
To feel independent is better than blocked.I understand they choice and i think they would like to have a normal life as all the people.

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, i already knew that the royal family rules are very strict and has a lot of drawbacks. Indeed, Megan Markle was recently introduced in the royal family unlike Kate Middleton, and she had a hard time to fit in the family's rules.
Second of all, in my opinion, this should not be so
publicized because they are people like us, they want to live a better and a simple life, unlike the kind of life you have when u are in the royal family.
In conclusion, everyone should be free of deciding wich choice is the best for their family's faith, because it is the most precious thing in life.

I think that it is both great and not great for Meghan and Harry to leave the royal family.
In the one hand, I can understand their decision because with all the the rumors about them, it becomes exhausting. And living like important person is truly difficult.
In the other hand, it is really disappointing for the people and the royal family because they chose to live with the family before. If they wanted to be apart from royal living, they should have left from the beginning.
I think Harry and Meghan choose to be independent financially but I think they choose it also because of the medias that were always saying something bad about Meghan, and maybe to protect their future family (their child), and to live like normal people without being told what to do or what to say with the royal family strict rules.

ReplyDeleteI personally think that this was the best decision for them.
When Meghan and Harry decided to get married, they became each others family and made the commitment to do right by that family. Meghan has had to give up a lot in order to be able to marry Harry and has been nothing but kind yet she receives unnecessarily harsh criticism when she is just trying her best.
In addition, I find it very symbolic that Harry would give up his royal duties for Meghan and their child. It shows that he is truly committed to his family and wants to do right by them. Which is all anyone can as for in a marriage.

But in fact I think they want to be independent especially in their own life in order in order to have less pressure to live as they wish. And they have of the crown, it's clear that they will now have to earn their own money. British people don’t understand their choice. On the other hand, Meghan was not English, moreover she has been working as an actress. It may seems difficult for her to always take care of everything she does, especially now, since she has a baby. I totally agree with them. Besides, Harry will never be named king. And we learn that the Queen has accepted their decision.

ReplyDeleteLive as a princess is probably one of the hardest thing that Meghan Markle does in her life. I really think that she didn’t
imagine how strict the protocole was. Therefore leave the kingdom is maybe the best option for her. Besides living away from
the royal family will make her feel more comfortable. However the reason is ridiculous, because how the duc and duchess are
supposed to apply for a job ? It’s to risky for them, they need bodygards every single minute of the day. I don’t know a job that
they can actually do. They could work with a charity association but they won’t have money and be really independant.
To conclude with I think the couple didn’t tell us the real reason of this extreme decision.

ReplyDeleteI think that Meghan and Harry’s decision is a very interesting one because all small girls at some stage dream to become a princess, Meghan is different from most people in that way, she doesn't seem to care about what people think of her or how much money she has.
I think that they just truly love each other and that they maybe feel trapped in the royal family, they maybe feel like they can't be who they really want to be. It can't be easy to live a love story when you have to constantly have to worry about looking and being a certain way. People might think that being part of the royal family is easy but I believe that in reality it is far from being easy, you are constantly judged and you always have to be perfect, the problem is that no is and no one will ever be perfect. The pressure that they feel must be immense, so I understand their decision.

First of all, I think that leaving the royal family is a brave decision because many people wouldn’t dare do that.
ReplyDeleteI think it’s a good thing for them because they could be more independent and their son, Archie, could probably have a more normal and less strict life than in the royal family so i think it’s better for his education.
I think that living in a royal family had been complicated for them and if they are better without them, I think that it was the right decision.
But, I understand that the family is angry against them, because they may have seen it as a abandonment and they maybe think that Harry and Megan don’t respect the traditions.
Finally, I think that leaving the royal family shows us that the family is modernizing and I think it’s a good thing to sometimes leave traditions aside and to choose the life that we really want.

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I think it's a good decision because, as everyone knows Megan is not British and she had to give up everything she knew for her husband. She was very critized and there was a lot of scandal about her. It was difficult for Megan from the start. In one of her interviews, she said that it was really difficult for her to be Harry's wife. Harry also said that he didn't want his wife to experience what his mother lived.
They have a baby now and I think they have to do what makes them happy. I respect their decision.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, being born in the royal family is a privilege that few can have therefore rejecting it seems counterproductive. Even if the social pressure can be hard to deal with at times, the benefits greatly make up for it. For example, the simple fact of belonging in the royal family eliminates the struggle of climbing the social ladder, of having to make a name for yourself in the world. The simple mention of your bloodline would be enough to access resources or to influence people, namely politicians.
As for the couple, leaving was a greater risk for Prince Harry than for Megan Markle. Let’s say that they divorce in the near future, not only Harry loses his significant other, he can’t easily come back into the royal family. Essentially, he left power, wealth and royal history for love. Although it may be noble, I think it’s particularly risky as love is very fickle.
Despite that, I think that his union with Megan opened the door for progress as it seemed to me that England was very conservative about its royal family. English media often were very harsh on Megan and her family.
To conclude, I’m not particularly interested in royal figures outside of an historical aspect so I’m quite indifferent to this event.
