Time travel

Would you rather went back in time or into the future? Why?

  1. Hi,
I'd rather go back to the past because I wish I could change a lot of things that I regret... I know regret is a bad thing, but if I had done otherwise, my life wouldn't be the same today...
I prefer to keep the future as a surprise and let it happen, you have to be patient and let it live.
I'm a person who lives daily without asking too many questions, so if I already knew that the future, I would be apprehending every day of my life

    1. Hi,
      I apologize for my mistakes:
      - If I knew what the future holds.... I would be scared

  2. Hi everyone!
It's a good question and honestly I would like to do both !

On the one hand, I want to see what my life will be and especially what I will be working in because currently I don't know what to do and probably because I’m too curious I would rather go into the future.

On the other hand, it would be good if I could go back to the past to correct some of my mistakes but I think if i do that I will change "the course" of the events and maybe I will not meet people that I like today or maybe things that I like today will not happen to me.

To conclude, I would like to go into the future because there are more advantages of going into the future than going back in time.

    Hi !
My favorite times are the time of the western and the Renaissance, with their beautiful princess castle.
I would like to travel back in time to discover for myself what we are told about the history/geography textbooks if it is true or not.
But, I would also like to travel back in time, to see my evolution, my life, my family and my children, to see also if I married a person I already know or someone else I don't yet know ; if I do the job I want or not ; if I will always have the same best friend and if I live in another country.
Travelling back in time would also be a good experience to meet people in my family that I have never known.
So, if you build a time machine and you're looking for someone to test it, I'm in!

  4. Hello,
I can’t answer with an only choice, It depends.
I would love to see the past only to see and speak with the greatest minds in history. See civilizations that no longer exists. But wouldn't go back in time to correct my mistakes as it can cause a ripple effect in time.
And I’d rather go to the future, probably in the next 30/40 years ahead. Not too far to see where I'm at and to see my generations that I've built and to see if I need to make changes current time period. 30-40 years in technology is a very long time, so I'm sure I'll be able to enjoy the advances.
    Bye.

    1. Sorry I made some mistakes :
      - "I can't answer by giving only one answer"
      - "exist" without the final "s"

  5. I'd like to go back in time, but not far away. I'd love to go back in early 2011, when I was a child, playing happily without any problems.

  6. to my opinion I wouldn't want to go back to the past because I think the slightest thing you change can change a lot of things in life and also because even if I would like to change something that I regret having done in the past I wouldn't do it because I think the mistakes we made in the past forge us into what we are now and I think I would rather go into the future like that I could prevent people if there are natural disasters or if accidents happen to my relatives

  7. Hi,
time travel is a very complicated subject and I'm sure that I wouldn't like to go into the future because that would be an enormous spoil of real life. Nevertheless I would be excited to go back in time for instance to refute some conspiracy theories. At last I would say that nobody can know if he would like to do something that he actually can't do.

  8. Hello,
I do not really know if I want to go in the future or go back in the past. But if I could go back in time, I think that I will change a lot of mistakes "that I regret or that I will not have to do." Moreover, knowing the future does not concern me. will change the present and our life I think the best thing to do is live in the present without regret and see what the future holds without remorse or questions.

  9. Hello,
As a kid , I dreamt a lot about the future and used to imagine some insane creations that we would be able to use, inspired by science fiction movies. I even remember that my friends at the time got so bored with me inventing that type of stuffs, I was such a moon child.
But now the future scares me more than anything, mainly because it involves my future as an adult and all the responsabilities that are waiting for me.
Scientists, on top of that, do not comfort us at all by making catastrophic forecasts and reports on the fate of our planet, it is to lose hope for humankind.
For all these reasons, I guess that I'd rather go back in time, probably in the 60's or 80's. Indeed for a very long time now, I've been obsessed with the fashion in this era, its iconic models (Coco Chanel, Jane Birkin, Twiggy, etc..) and the cinematography.

  11. Hi,
First, I’d like to say that I’m very happy with my past. There has been some unfortunate events, mistakes, lost friends, embarrassment, failed exams, to name a few things.
Moreover, the person I was and the person I am at 16, soon to be 17, remain my pride and I don’t think they need anything more than what they’ve learnt throughout the years.
Based on that, I’d be more curious about who I’ll become !
Will I become a teacher like I planned? Will I travel the countries I’ve only seen from afar? Will I lean towards other hobbies? Will I master other languages? Will I end up being an entertainer, as I enjoy comedy? Will I produce movies or series, as I like cinematography and audiovisual media? Will my body or my style change?

And finally, how is the world in the future…?

In order to answer all those questions, I’d rather being able to go into the future.
Of course, my answer is only from my perspective as there are many things I would change in the past, but History may only repeat itself..

  12. Hello,
I really like this question. I think I’d prefer to go back to the past, for several reasons that the future doesn’t satisfy.
Firstly everything in life is based on the past, our society, our way of thinking, the language we speak, the fact that we are on Earth, the fact that I can answer this question now because someone posted it 2 years ago, everything we do is a consequence of the past.
There are so many things that have happened since Earth’s creation that we don’t even know about. I strongly believe that so many matters could be solved if we could just replay a short part of the past, maybe we can discover criminals, maybe someone saved the world and nobody knows.
I’m probably too idealistic or dreamy but in 4,5 billion of years I think that amazing things have happened and we don’t know them. If I had to talk from a personal point a view, I’d rather go back in time to replay parts of my life that I really liked, and to discover myself when I was too young to remember. To enjoy more my family, say things that I should have said, eventually to have fewer regrets.
Moreover, I think it is good not to know things that’ll happen, life is great because there are surprises, if we know all the things that will happen we will be excited on the time but that’s it.
Furthermore, we will always be waiting for a part of the future, always waiting because we know it will happen. And we will be prisoners of our life because we can’t change the future so everything we will do we know it, and we can’t change it, it’s all written and I think it’s frustrating not being able to change things.
So, I’d rather go back to the past.

      -maybe we could* discover criminals
-we would* be excited at* the time but that’s it
-And we will be prisoners of our lives*
-so everything we do will knew*

  13. For this question I have a mixed feeling. On the one hand, I would like to travel on the past because when my parents are talking about their youth from the 80’s to the 90’s it seems to me that their generation spent their time differently from us, generation Z. They dressed differently, listened to iconic musical artists such as Abba, Queen etc.. and of course had no Internet. Having no internet seems delusional nowadays but it had existed at the time. That’s why people found out new way to entertain themselves instead of being on their phones as we are currently.
On the other hand, I would like to travel in the future because it seems to be hopeless but at the same time hopeful, you never know what will happened and what to except from it. That is why the future scares us but excites us as the same time because it is unexpected.

To sum up with, I would like to travel in the future because the past belongs to the past, my parents had been living their teenage years at one period of the time and I am living mine at this moment.
The future is bright and we have a long way to go to discover and learn more about it so let’s keep moving forward.
