  3. I think that the latest adaption of Sherlock is really cool. The fact that the show is a modern edition and portrays the modern day England is really awesome. John and Sherlock are probably (after Doctor Who) the best thing to happen to BBC.
It's more of a thing that has a mystery solving essence to it. In fact, it's the British version of CSI/NCIS. I really love it and can't wait for the fourth season!

  4. To begin, Sherlock is a British television crime drama that presents a contemporary adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes detective stories ( first written in 1883 ). What do I think of the latest adaptation of Sherlock Holmes ( the TV series with B. Cumberbatch in the title role) which is set in contemporary England ?

It's difficult for me to talk about this series : I've never watched it ! But I know a bit about the actor : he first starred role on television as the title character in Hawking in 2004. In 2013, he starred in films like Star Trek and 12 Years a Slave ( plantation owner ). I saw him in 12 Years a Slave and he was a great actor.
Even if I've never watched the series, I've watched an other Sherlock Holmes' film : A Game of Shadows ( in 2011) directed by Guy Ritchie. The main actors are Robert Downey and Jude Law.
Holmes and Watson join forces to outwit and bring down their most cunning adversary, Professor James Moriarty. Although influenced by Doyle's short story "The Final Problem", the film follows an original story and is not a strict adaptation.
From this film, I can say the character of Sherlock is almost funny. He's a very clever person, sometimes mad, stubborn but with a powerful observation.

In conclusion, I think the British series of Sherlock would be nice because many other adaptations are nice too ! Now, I'd like to see that because many people talk about it !

  5. To start with, 'Sherlock' is a Bristish television crime drama that presents contemporary adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes detective stories. So, what do I think of this latest adaptation ?

First of all, Sherlock Holmes's stories of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle are very interesting ! Indeed, in these books, there is suspense and I rather like how he wrote. Therefore, I think that a good adaptation is very difficult to do.
However, this serie is cool and we find in it, all the elements of the books. Moreover, the actor, Benedict Cumberbatch is excellent as Sherlock Holmes. As a result, this serie wons many awards ! I think it's a good idea to adapt famous books to learn, know more about the story and to spend good time at the same time.

To conclude, the serie 'Sherlock' is a good adaptation. All the people, even the girls can watch it ! So, I invite you to see it.

    1. Hello Ellen, i'm a French student and your french is really good and fluent but here's some mistakes you've made that i would like to correct:
So, instead of " je ne peux pas attendre pour la saison 4" you should say "j'ai vraiment hâte de voir la saison 4".
"Je pense que cette adaptation en série est bonne (...) et (...) et (...) très intéressants (...) tu n'as pas vu (...) je pense que tu devrais"
Hope those few corrections will help you!

  10. Personally I love the new adaptation of Sherlock Holmes for BBC! I have seen every episode but since it is a British show I can only see the episodes at later air dates here in the USA. However I love the show and I think that it is a very smart way to write a show : set in modern day London with modern characters and with modern devices.
The show has a special quality which is the ability to morph really old classic stories into modern crime show episodes . I think my favorite episodes is the second one from this past series and I think that the writing for that episode was very funny!
I appreciate the satirical aspects and the funny quips said between Sherlock and Watson! I hope the show lasts a very long time and I think that Benedict Cumbercatch is awesome!
