What do you think about gender inequality ?

  1. Gender inequality is a pretty hard topic because a lot of things come with it.So, I think "gender inequality" is really wide but if i should go straight to the point, gender inequality is something that each day reminds women thay no matter how hard they try they will have to work twice harder than men.In the movie "Barbie"(2023) directed by Greta Gerwig the actress America Ferrera playing the character "Gloria" has an incredibly captivating monologue. She talks about how hard it is to basically be a woman like just that easy-looking thing that's representing a woman. Because when you're a woman you have to submit to every thing the patriarchy expects from you.She mentions how society will never be satisfied about a woman's choices. I'll finish this argument with a quote from the monologue of the character Gloria "I'm just too tired of watching myself and every other single other woman tie herself into knots so that people will like us.And if all of that is also true for a doll just representing women, then I don't even know.".

  2. Gender inequality is a problem that needs to be corrected urgently. Gender equality is essential for a good and just society. I think that to solve this problem we need a good education at home and at school.I find that gender inequality is stupid because boys and girls are same and both deserves the same treatement, nothing justifies this inequality and it has been there for too long. ( I think that in France we are lucky compared to other countries ).

  3. Inequalities between gender is an urgent matter that needs to be taken care of.
Being a woman myself, i deeply feel concerned about it.
Receiving feminine gender comments about what i do or not is really annoying.
Or for example at family gatherings when the man’s are making sexist jokes telling that we need to clean and serve for them.
I always rebelle and stand up for myself to try and change their minds.

  4. To my mind, women are equal to men. Gender inequality is a human mistake. Maybe men don’t have enough tolerance to accept other genders ? They must accept that women have abilities equal to them. I think that prejudices are important in gender inequality. Women must continue their fight to change the world.

  5. Gender inequalities are still very rehanged in the world especially in african countries like Congo with many rapes and violence against ‘half of the human race’ since 25 years, and no one talk about it.
In fact, women are considered inferior to men and this is revolting. Women are fighting for their rights for so many years, I think of the women who for centuries sacrificed themselves for ours rights like Simone Veil, that we consider normal today in France.
Those inegalities can be related to traditions and patriarchal culture, The Barbie movie talk very well about it (and it was realised and directed by a woman).
However, discrimination and limiting stereotypes remain common in our country and we have the right to expect more.

  7. Gender inequality is a significant issue that needs to be addressed. Everyone should have equal opportunities and rights, regardless of their gender. It's important to promote gender equality and work towards creating a more inclusive and fair society for all. We should strive for a world where everyone is treated with respect and has the same opportunities to succeed.

  8. Gender inequality is a long ordeal for women despite their fights. In France we are lucky to be able to protest against injustices but in other countries women don't have the ability to fight and are victims of sexism. I want to talk about women who don't have the possibility to express themselves and suffer from abuse in any sense of the word, based on a book that i read.

"The Impatient" (Les Impatientes) is a novel written by Djaïli Amadou Amal (inspired by her real life) in 2020, which won the "Prix Goncourt des Lycéens" the same year. The book deals with the hard reality that women suffer in western Africa. The book talks about three girls (Ramla, Hindou and Safira) who are connected by the hard destiny of forced polygamous(not for each woman) marriage. I won't go through the details, but each woman had dreams that were broken by a forced polygamous (or just forced marriage)marriage. In the book these women are abused by their husbands, constantly hit, belittled, and raped wich cause psychosomatic illnesses. This novel is hard to read due to all the violence and injustice. Obviously men dominate in this book and women are treated like trash. These are real situations that women in western Africa have to deal with but because of isolation and restrictions imposed by their husbands and families they can't ask for help. This is a situation that is normalized and common in poor African countries. Very often, young girls just over 11 years old are forcibly married to rich polygamous men. When i first read this book i was mad at men. How can they be happy to feel superior to the weak? For me repressing women is unfair, men can't deprive women of their rights only because of their desires. Our gender is something that is determined randomly so basically it can't determine a whole life.

Ultimately, gender inequality is an absurd ideology that only ruins lives. Also it amplified by women who are attached to old fanatic principles. Gender inequality is weird but together(men/women) we're stronger and can go farther.

  10. The gender inequality doesn’t exist because everyone is equal. Because we are all human.

  11. It's unfair because women don't have the same equality compared to men in terms of jobs, paid etc
Women is cook , work in house, take care of baby

  12. Gender inequality shouldn’t

  13. In my opinion, women shouldn’t be considered as less important as men. Unfortunately, in society we can see gender stereotypes everywhere.
Indeed, for example, women do not have equal access to jobs and they are less paid.
In general, for many men, women should be in the kitchen, should do the cleaning or look after babies and the role of the bread winner should be played by the husband. We can see that the belief in Ukraine is that raising children is a women’s responsibility !
Furthermore, gender stereotype is a cause of violence against women. For example, Ukrainian women suffer from sexual and physical violence. A direct consequence of gender inequality.
I think that gender stereotype has no right to exist as it is a violation of fundamental human rights which leads to gender inequality in society. We should really give access for women and men to same opportunities (benefits, resources and remunerations).
Finally, women and men should receive equal pay and should be able to make important decisions in their work.
Therefore, everyone will benefit from gender equality and men and women will be happier.

  14. Gender inequality is still an issue in today’s society.
In France, I think we have been improving over time, with the standard ‘ideal family’ evolving from a working husband and a stay at home wife, to two working parents. The idea of women working seems basic nowdays, but that was not the case just a few generations ago! I’m glad we are improving as a society, however the fight against gender inequalities is not over. For example, a lot of people are still misogynists, and this makes women feel less safe at night, in the bus or even just in the streets. It is a known fact that here, women are paid 25% less than men for the same amount of work.
Worldwide, gender inequalities vary. I will focus on the USA, because to my mind women’s rights are currently in danger there. The recent laws allow states to individually choose whether they allow abortion or not. Some states, mostly southern states, have already forbidden abortion. To me, this is a complete violation of women’s bodies. Moreover, this has increased the number of illegal and unsafe abortion all across the USA.
To conclude, I don't think gender inequalities are going to leave this world soon. But if we all keep fighting for equality at our own pace, we can hope for a better future!

  15. Gender inequalities are a complex but still topical subject. I think this is not fair since we do not choose our genre. You are born as a girl or a boy and you can't change. I think it is unfair to create inequalities and think that one gender is stronger than the other. It should no exist again, for example, the differences between men and women on the salary for the same job.

  16. Gender inequality is a significant societal issue that persists in various forms, affecting opportunities, representation, and overall well-being. Addressing it requires collective efforts, promoting equal opportunities, challenging stereotypes, and fostering an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of gender, can thrive.

  17. Gender inequality is definitely a topic that deserves attention and action. It's unfair that people are treated differently or face limitations based on their gender. Everyone should have equal opportunities and be able to pursue their dreams and goals, regardless of their gender. It's important to promote inclusivity, respect, and equal rights for all. We should all work together to create a more equitable and inclusive society

  18. In my opinion , it should not have gender inequality because we are all humans. unfortunately there is inequality in the professional sphere while men and women occupy the same position. The salary is often higher for men. There are very few women who are CEOs even though they have the same qualities and even better.

  20. I don't like gap years because afterwards you become lazy and you don't want to take classes again. I think that online courses are not interesting because we can always be in our thoughts without listening. Also there is not enough motivation to study
