After reading black beauty I felt sad about how the horses suffer cruel mistreatment. While reading I felt different things, at the beginning I felt happy that Black beauty had a nice life with nice owners and he was not treated cruelly. But he doesn’t keep the same owners during his life, and most of his new masters were cruel, it is sad that horses suffer cruelty, they shouldn’t be whipped or forced to do something. But there is a happy ending, Black beauty is reunited with joe green and he is in a nice home with nice masters. In this book the horse’s life is told from the point of view of the horse so if we put ourselves in their place we feel bad for them, they are treated horribly and no one has the right to be cruel, this book shows us the awareness we should spread. At the beginning of the story, i found it strange that the horses can spoke beetween them, but after, more time spend, more i found that really wonderful for the narration and the emotion that can be transmit to the readers
At the beginning of the story I found it strange that horses could talk to each other. But then, as time went on, I thought it was really wonderful for the storytelling and the emotions it could convey to the readers. (correction)
This book made me reflect on the treatment horses received in the victorian era as well as in some country nowadays. For instance when I watched Sherlock Holmes (the film) I didn't notice how were attached the horses, I didn't know bit and bearing rein could make them suffer so much. So now, I can't help but being uncomfortable when such situations come up in a film. Quentin Bertora

This book made me remember one of my favorite Disney movies called « Spirit ».This movie also talks about how humans treat horses like machines .I found this book really realistic and its shows the feelings of the horses even if they don’t speak we can understand their pain.
I liked the book especially knowing the thoughts of horses I found it very interesting. Moreover the book shows the reality because at that time it is true that the horses were mistreated since they were a good means of transport with the carriages. The book was easy to read and it encouraged me a lot to read books in English.
