  1. This proverb says that it is better to have a teacher in front of you than two books. Indeed, the great advantage of the teacher is that he is not dumb like books and therefore we can talk with him and ask if there is something wrong and we do not understand. Moreover, in some matters and especially languages, if there is a good pronunciation to have the textbook cannot tell us even by writing it in phonetic reading.

  2. In this proverb, It is said that It's better to have a teacher to learn than books.

First, a teacher to understand the lessons, to learn or to the pronunciation is better because he can speak, he can have differents ways of explaining if we don't understand and I would add that he can have some anecdotes to tell about the subject.

Next, in a book It can have good advices but maybe the way of learning or memorizing will not please us.

To conclude, even though in today's books there are good methods for learning I think that a teacher can be more efficient if we really want to learn and indeed It's nicer to have a person in front of you than a book.

    1. First, a teacher learn us how to pronounce, thus is better because he can speak, he can have different ways of explaining if we don't understand.
However, books can provide good advice about methods of learning.

  3. This proverb says that it is better to have a teacher than two books. I think this proverb is right because we can think that two books contain a lot of information but if we don't understand some of this information, nobody will be able to help us directly whereas a teacher would be there to explain to us what we don't understand. Moreover, a teacher can give us a lot of extra advices, which a book cannot do.

  4. Reading books is a good way to learn new things and it’s accessible to almost everyone thanks to libraries but using only books can be boring and difficult, it’s easier to have a teacher in front of you.
Indeed, teachers can answer questions, they know the difficulties of their students so they can adapt lessons to their level, explain again and again if students don’t understand.
Moreover, a book has limits due to the number of pages but a teacher has almost no limits in knowledges indeed he/she can learn new things every day and has a great experience in his/her subject.
Finally, in some subjects like languages a teacher is necessary: to learn a new language it’s important to speak it and learn pronunciation.

  5. This proverb shows that one teacher is better than two books. Indeed, having a teacher is an advantage because if you don't understand something, they are there to help you understand it. Whereas a book does not have the capacity to teach us things but only to inform us.

First of all, the teacher's role is to transmit knowledge to the students. They are specialized in a particular subject and are in charge of introducing new areas through chapters elaborated according to the level of each class. The goal is to approach a subject, to do research in order to better appropriate it, to analyze documents together. But a book helps a person to develop his mind, to create himself.

Moreover, teachers can answer questions, they know the difficulties of their students in order to be able to adapt the lessons to their level, they can describe, analyze and explain, if the students don't understand something.

Finally, teachers know how to explain things to us, especially knowledge and pronunciations in certain languages. A book can help us to develop our critical thinking, knowledge and imagination. A teacher is more effective than 2 books in learning many concepts.

  6. This proverb "One teacher is better than two books" means that it is better to have one teacher to work and learn than to have two books to work with.
Indeed, one book teaches us a lot and gives us lessons and methods to work with. But it cannot explain a lesson to us in different ways if we cannot understand it.
But a teacher can explain a lesson to us if we don't understand it. We can talk to him, we can ask him questions and he can give us examples to illustrate the lessons.
In conclusion, the best way to work is to have a teacher, because you will always have something concrete. But you can't ask books for explanations and you can't talk to them.

  7. Proverb « a teacher is better than two books »:
is that a person has a brain capable of thinking, I mean he is able to think imaginatively, while these books can only give us a piece of "dry" information and nothing more. A teacher can explain a particular problem to his students, give some examples on a given subject, answer questions and so on. And a teacher is human being committed to helping people learn, to helping each person explore the world in their own way, a vast resource & an ally, while two books are simply two books.

  8. In my opinion the proverb tries to make us understand that a teacher can be more beneficial than books. This is because a teacher has more to offer than a book, because of his experience, because of the interaction he can create with his student and because he is human. A book cannot adapt to the needs or answer all his questions. While a teacher knows how to adapt to each student's profile so that he or she can understand as well as possible.

  9. In my opinion, the proverb "a teacher is better than two books" means: a teacher is better than two books because the teacher is a man, he helps people to learn while the book is only an object. that he has no soul and cannot explain the problems the student is having.

  10. We learn a lot when we read. Reading improves our vocabulary, our spelling and makes us discover a lot of things. On the other hand, it is better to have a teacher because
most teachers capture what you can read in books in a captivating way. We can also ask them questions directly when we want to know something in particular.
Moreover, a book can only teach us things superficially while a teacher puts more passion into it which is more interesting.
This is what the proverb means: "A teacher is better than two books".

  11. I very much agree with this proverb because, if we can formulate it differently, a teacher will be more help than two insignificant books. Of course books will always be important for our education and they are great tools to make us improve in every school subject and increase our general knowledge. However, teachers have more to offer since they are actual human beings that can interact and understand you if you have got any problems. To have an understanding and intelligent teacher is indeed better than to only have two books.

  12. Although it depends on the professor before us, that is to say, on his experience, his practice... and the student in question, I agree with the proverb because I find the oral explanations more understandable. In addition, if there are questions about a chapter, the questions can be asked directly to the professor, which is much more practical because you cannot ask questions to a book.

  13. According to this proverb, it is better to have a teacher in front of you than two books. In fact, having a teacher in front of you is much more advantageous, since he/she can help you when you have difficulties in understanding exercises, for example. The teacher shares his knowledge with us on various subjects and we can therefore exchange and debate with him. Thus we can interact with the teacher, while the book provides us the information.

  14. This proverb aims to make us understand that books certainly have all possible and unimaginable knowledge, but if his reader does not have the capacity to be able to understand all this information, only a teacher can help him in this task

  15. This proverb says that a teacher is better than two books I think it’s right because when you have two books you just can read the text but if you have a teacher in front of you you can ask questions and have an interaction with the teacher and better understand the lesson.

  16. I totally agree with this German Proverb because I think it means that a teacher is better than two books because a teacher can explain when you don’t understand. In opposition, when you read books if you don’t understand it’s more complicated. You must find by yourself and search which is great and beneficial too. But I guess when you have a teacher by your side he or she can understand more precisely which is a gain of time and a real chance. Moreover a teacher is able of adapting himself/herself to his student. Teachers must be patients and pedagogues to make their students understand and to explain clearly in different ways depended on the student. Moreover with a book the author share his/her point of view, and explain with his/her way but this is not an exchange. Whereas with teachers it’s a social exchange which benefits both. The student who learn, understand and can appreciate the experience of his/her teacher. And the teacher who can learn another way of explaining, teaching by adapting his/herself to the different students because each of them is different. Therefore it differs from the book where the share is only one way.

You must find the meaning of the words all by yourself./ He or she can help you to understand / is able to adapt.
Attention à ne pas calquer les deux langues.
Pas d’s sur les adjectifs en anglais.
      The author shares explains/learns/understands

  17. I agree with this German proverb because with books, people are not there to help you if you have a problem.Unlike the teacher who is there to share his knowledge but also to explain to you something if you have any problems.
Finally, we learn better when we interact with a human, which is not the case with a book or a machine.

  18. This proverb says that it is better to have a teacher in front of you than two books.
I agree with what this proverb says because there may be a lot of information in a book, but this information is limited, if we do not understand a word, the book will not be able to give us its definition, it is therefore preferable to have a teacher who explains the meaning of the words.
To conclude, even though in today's books there are good methods for learning I think that a teacher can be more efficient if we really want to learn and indeed It's nicer to have a person in front of you than a book.

  19. I agree with this proverb, because having a human-being in front of you is a better way to learn and remember something. Indeed, the book forces you to learn by yourself, where the teacher allows an interaction with the student. Asking questions and answering those asked by the teacher makes you learn without even knowing it. It also depends on the profile of the student, and I guess some books have great learning methods, but a teacher will still be a better way to learn.

  20. This proverb says that a book give us a limited quantity of knowledges and you learn a history but a teacher give you some knowledge and also an experience of lives, the experience of the teacher he is.
So this proverb it’s great and totally real about what we have in today’s lives.
This proverb I think says also that we shall surround us in learn and focus about the knowledge we could get with the human experience of teachers.

  21. I agree with this German proverb. The teachers can directly explain and help us using better pronunciation and add examples to better understand. something that books don't do. In addition, the teachers know their students so they can adapt to their difficulties. Even if reading books improves our spelling.

  22. In my opinion with these proverb author wanted to convey to us the idea that having a teacher in front of us we have the opportunity to ask questions, think, talk, etc. The most important thing is that we have a person who will correct us if we are wrong while having a book it’s not so. We also gain knowledge from reading a book. It makes us think or talk about some subjects but if we are wrong it will not tell us until we understand it ourselves and correct our mistake. It’s leave us thinking that in a way having a teacher is better than having a book.
