Hello, In a society obsessed with appearances, Dorian allows himself to taste pleasures, vices and emotions that slowly take control over him. In search of the beauty and essence of life, his soul is deceived by adventurous flings, quarrels, and even murder. There are moments when Dorian perceives evil solely as a means to achieve his selfish notion of beauty. The changes in his portrait are revealed over 18 years, during which the painted Dorian Gray becomes a monster, a reflection of all the sins his physical self has committed. Wrinkles and warts appear on the face of the picture; the scalp loses its hair, the skin becomes stained; his gaze lost and his smile dejected. In contrast, Dorian Gray has the same young and angelic appearance he had before compromising his soul. In the end, beauty turns out to be just a mask for him, and youth , a deception. To believe that the soul expresses itself through the body is to think superficially. At the same time, let’s not reject the idea that a beautiful body can reflect a beautiful soul. On the contrary , that would be ideal. But the main conclusion is that we shouldn’t consider physical appearance a reference for morality, no matter how innocent, noble and elegant someone looks. We often tend to let ourselves inspired and guided by appearances.
Is my soul a reflection of what people see is a very complexe question. I think it depends on each person, in fact, nowadays, the appearances is very important in our society, people might think that what people see is a reflection of they soul. I don’t agree with that for many reasons, first of all, people can pretend to be someone just to be liked or to be part of a groupe… Second of all, you can’t know a person just by his appearances, an expression says « don’t judge a book by his cover » and I think it’s very true, you have to know truly the person to know they soul. The Disney, Beauty and the Beast is the perfect example to illustrate this. To conclue, I don’t think that your should could be a reflection of hat people see, even though, it’s very common nowadays.
I don't know if the soul of each person is a reflection of what people see, but I think that mine is the same. I think that people whose souls are different from what they seem to be are not always good people. Usually, some people seem nice, caring, but it's all like a mask. if they drop it, a bad and malicious person hides behind it. We often see this kind of scenario in movies. I don't really know if it's the same in real life, I think that if we can watch it on movies, it's probably true. Personally, I don't know anyone like that. However, I am not sure that it is always a bad thing. I imagine that some people have good souls, but they hide it like they have a shell, to protect themselves from others. Furthermore, as someone said before, we are in a society obsessed with appearances, and people judge what they see without taking the time to know the person. To my mind, I never really asked myself the question. Even though it depends on people who are watching me, I think that my soul is a reflection of what people see. Even so, some people can have prejudices about me, and therefore do not to see me as I am, and it's the same for everyone. We shouldn't judge a book by its cover.
Hi! We often hear that «appearance can be misleading» in french. I’m agree. Sometimes we saw people and think that this person seems to be nasty, not funny... However there’s only titles, that we judge, physical aspects not soul. Moreover, I think, we can’t judge a person because we don’t know the character, his story about his life. So, I can’t say if my soul is a reflection about what people see. I’m not the others. To my mind, all people had ever heard some things wrong about people, bad reflection, but you know the truth because this person, contrary the others you know him or her. Otherwise, all people judge even in their head, it’s a natural thing. So, some things that my reflection show can be true, but maybe most of my reflection doesn’t show the truth. If you know, maybe you can say.
This question is quite delicate. It is difficult to distinguish between good and bad people and therefore to know whether or not they can be trusted. That's why our soul is not necessarily a reflection of what people see. Some people give themselves a role, they are not necessarily themselves in front of others, it's a way to protect themselves. Some people are very shy at first and it turns out that they have a strong personality. Personally, I don't show my whole personality to just anyone, I show what I want them to see. Otherwise I feel more vulnerable. So for me, our soul is not a reflection of what people see.
Hello, This is a really interesting question because it is a subject that marks our society whether it is centuries ago, with the nobility, or nowadays with social medias for example. Firstly, when you meet someone the first thing that you’ll notice is how they look, it’s inevitable. But appearances in themselves are not a reflection of your soul on the contrary. You could be the opposite of what you seem to be, like being ugly but having a pure soul or being magnificent but having an evil soul. We can feed my thought with stories, here is an instance : the book « The Picture of Dorian Gray » by Oscar Wilde published in 1890 perfectly embodies the obsession with someone’s appearance. Dorian Gray is a young and beautiful man who is worried of his physique, one day he met Lord Henry who painted him in a portrait. And this portrait deteriorates the more he does bad deeds because he made a pact with the devil to keep eternal beauty. Finally this story teaches us that our appearance doesn’t reflect our soul at all. But, if we had to qualify a statement, our soul could be reflected by our eyes. Because they can’t lie, they are the only ones we can’t really control. Indeed there is a quote that explains « our eyes are the mirror of our souls ». As a conclusion, our soul is not a reflection of what people see but our appearance is. Charlier Jade, 104

I made some mistakes:
Delete- from whom they seem to be
- in movies
- people who are looking at me
