Changing habits

Would you consider becoming vegetarian or vegan ?

  1. Hello !

I don't consider becoming vegetarian or vegan, because I think that eating meat is necessary to human health. Indeed, some important proteins can only be found in animal flesh (and not in vegetals). However, I think that people eat too much meat nowadays, so I try to eat less meat, which is not too hard for me, as I don't like it that much, because eating too much meat is also unhealthy. On top of that, livestock farming is a great source of pollution, so eating less meat can be a good thing for the environment.

  2. Hi everyone,
In my opinion, not all the proteins that the human body need are in vegetables or cereal. There are proteins and vitamins that can not be in vegan or vegetarian food but in meat and fish that's the reason why I don't consider becoming vegan or vegetarian. That doesn't mean that we only have to eat animal and food produced by animals like cheese, milk and else. Nowadays people consume a lot of meat especially red meat and as a result that increase the risk of cancer, obesity and cardiovascular disease.

  3. Hello!
As Octave said, I don't consider becoming vegetarian or vegan. First of all, because I like meat to much and I can't imagine my life without it. Also it contains proteins which are necessary for my body. I'm a sporty girl, I do synchronized swimming and I need proteins to do it. Moreover, fishes and eggs taste great but meat taste better (in my opinion obviously). However, I heard that there were 149kg of rotten meat from a slaughterhouse in Poland which were sold to costumers and it scares me a bit. To conclude I think that now I will chose to eat vegetable instead of meat(sometimes). But eat only vegetables might be impossible for me.

    1. Hello everyone

I would like to try being vegetarian but for a week only. First of all, I like meat and I don't see myself quitting eating meat for always. Then I do quite a lot of sport so I need the protein that the meat contains. On the long term, I would like try to reduce my consumption of meat because some medicine research show that eating too much meat is bad for your health and it's also bad for the environment. However I would not try to be vegan because there is to much constraint and restrictement. everyone

  4. Hello,
In my humble opinion, meat is really important for human being. It gives you proteins necessary for your muscles, bones and even nails and hair. Also, I love meat so it's a big factor. However, I respect all people who are vegeterian or vegan and people who want to be like them because they got a lot of courage.
So, no I don't consider becoming vegetarian or vegan.

  5. Hello!
To begin with, I would say that I won't even consider becoming vegan, indeed, it implies too much things to get rid off, and not only food, I guess this is what bothers me in this way of life. Then, about becoming vegetarian, I don't really know, on the one hand, I am not sure that I'm ready to remove meat and fish from my diet, even though I don't eat that much ; on the other hand, I have to say that it would be so good for the planet as meat production pollutes a lot, and we all know that eating meat is not that healthy either, moreover, it might be interesting to experience that way of life. In other words, I may consider becoming vegetarian, as it could be good for me and the environment.
To conclude, I would say that everyone is allowed to do whatever diet they want, but we all should keep in mind that eating meat as often as we do is not a good habit, therefore we should all reduce our consumption.

  6. Hello !

Well it's a very sensitive decision because choosing to become vegetarian or vegan is not a choice this easily made. But to my mind if someone wants to become vegan, he should first start step by step in order not to be harsh in your alimentation. That means one should start by being pesto-vegetarian, vegetarian and then vegan. I think this is easier. In fact I know a person in my family that is vegan and defends vegan's lifestyle and she says that the vegans can eat whatever they want because everything is viable for vegans nowadays, for instance there are some vegan cheese, vegan meat made with soy. Moreover she says that vegans eat healthy which is good and they don't feel they are devoid from eating whatever they want. Indeed, I don't think I would be able to become vegan because veganism is not only defined by food's lifestyle but also by what you wear or daily use for example a vegan women would wear a hand bag or shoes made with vegan leather. To conclude, it would be hard for me to become vegan because it should be a well-thought decision and I am still young to make such an important choice.

  7. Hello everyone, I'm not sure if I could be vegetarian or not but what is sure is that I'll never be able to become vegan because if you're vegan you've got too much food you can't eat as milk, yogurt, honey and even eggs which means too much cakes would be forbidden to me so that's impossible !
I have doubts in becoming vegetarian one day.
On the one hand, I find cruel the methods used to breed then to kill animals and I know eating meat is bad for health, so if I were vegetarian I'd be healthier because I would compensate meat proteins by fish proteins (by the way I love fish) which contains much less fat than those in the meat.
On the other hand, if I stop eating meat I'm not sure it will change something for animals because there would still be a lot of carnivorous people and I'm so used to eat meat once a day that it would be very hard for me to stop completely eating it, I could probably feel weak even with fish, milk and eggs. That's why, once I'm an adult, I'll try to be vegetarian for a time and see the consequences but until that day, I commit from today to reduce my meat consumption ! Thank you Eliott for reminding me that we should all eat less meat!
Thanks for reading and have a great evening ♡

  8. Hello,
Becoming a vegetarian or vegan is a decision not to be taken lightly. I think it is important first to consult a doctor and to be well informed about this.
For my part, I do not plan to become vegan or vegetarian. Of course, I respect all the people who are and I admire them. In my family, we eat a lot of meat and I do not think that my parents would at first accept the choice to stop eating meat altogether. In addition, some proteins that are present in meat are important for the body. In addition, it will be good to reduce the amount of meat we eat because eating too much is not good for health and will avoid killing thousands of animals.

  9. Hello,
As Mayane said, becoming vegetarian or vegan is a difficult choice.
I think I won't consider becoming vegetarian or vegan because, in my opinion, meat is really important for our health and body, and it conteins proteins that are not necessarily in soja, etc. But I totally respect vegetarian and vegan people, because some of them make things change, like for example, meat industries.
To add more, the way the industries treat animals is unacceptable, and the amount of meat they produce is huge compared to what people consume.
So, I think we should eat less meat, but not avoiding consumming it for our health.

    Thanks for your attention,
    Lisa

  11. First of all, what is vegetarianism ?
Vegetarianism is the practice of a diet that excludes meat(including games and slaughter byproducts; fish, shellfish and other sea animals; and poultry). There are several variants of diet, some of whish also exclude eggs. The vegetarians don't eat meat or fish. Some vegetarians consume eggs. Lacto-vegetarian: eating dairy products. Ovo-vegetarian: eating eggs. Pescetarianism: a vegetarian-like diet that avoid meat and poultry but does include fish. Finally, they don't eat gelatin or other animal by products.
To myself, I'm vegetarian for about a year and a half, and I feel good, I have no deficiency, and I feel in great shape. Of course, I sometimes eat meat, because I am not independent, and I don't have time to cook, and my parents can't do many different meals only because I don't eat meat; but it's unusual. My parents are not vegetarians, and I think they will never be , because they like meat; but it does not mean that they eat it at every meal.
Personally, I don't want to be vegan, because I think that their diet is too complicated and extreme, because they do not eat anything, they exclude the use of animals for food, clothing, or any other purpose. Vegans endeavor not to use or consume animal products of any kind. Veganism is a philosophy and compassionate lifestyle whose adherents seek to exclude the use of animals products.
Anyway, last year, Sirine and I made a presentation for the DNL class, about vegetarianism and veganism.

  12. Hey!
I wouldn't become vegetarian or vegan, because, as Bilel said in a previous comment, I believe that meat is very important (and I also love the taste of it). It's the best way to get proteins in your body and it helps you with your musculature (even though there are other ways to get protein, meat is the fastest solution). I think that, overall, vegetarianism and veganism are good habits that protect animals, but, on the other hand, it goes against the law of nature and how we were conceived to be. It, in some way, deteriorates nature and saves it at the same time. It's a huge choice to make, and who knows what might happen to the world if everyone becomes vegan...

  13. Yes I think it is likely that I will gradually change my habits because I think it won't hurt the planet to be careful. I know that it is natural for humans to eat animals, meat and "exploit" them to produce clothes or food. It's the law of the strongest. But now we are far enough along to avoid exploiting and harming them, the planet is already damaged enough as it is to continue to exterminate its fauna and flora so for it I will change my habits because it is from where I come and it is to it that I will return.

  15. Hello,
I respect the decision of people who have become vegans or vegetarians but I will not be able to become one. I love meat too much for that, and I think it's normal for humans to eat meat or fish or eggs because they are very important protaines and vitamins that are not found in other foods. . Even if I don’t eat an egg or drink milk, I eat fish. I think it's a really serious choice not to be taken lightly because it changes our whole way of life. But I am still against animal abuse. Many animals experience free violence when they should not, and that is why we must be careful about what we are doing because our actions have an impact on many things. So I will not become vegan or vegetarian but I will always support animal advocacy because I love animals in spite of everything.

  16. Being vegetarian is something very interesting , It can bring you a lot of things .
First of all you can discover new vegetables and fruits , because if you become vegetarian you'll start to eat more vegetables .
Suddenly being vegetarian is good for your body , it allow you to eat more healthy .
Finally being vegetarian is first of all protect animals and it's very good for them , because people eat too much meal ,and if they continue in a few years there wont be any meal too eat.
To finish i just want to say that i am actually vegetarian but it's not really for all of the reasons that I said , I just hate meal , it disgusts me , bu I still think that we need to be more careful and protect animals.

  18. Hello,
I cannot change my habits for food. I am young and I usually a lot of sport I need a lot of protein. Even if a vegan person says that you can have energy for a day with vegetable and fruit, I already try and you cannot work or travel with an empty stomach. I think that old people can change their habits because they do not work or educate children and because they eat less than young people so they can eat vegetables and fruits. Moreover, I am not against people who want to protect our planet, but I think some vegan people are extremist and they destroy the good aim of this habit with some very hard act like vandalism against butcher. Finally, in my opinion, to be vegan or not is a very personal choice, so you must do what you want and not what your parent or your friend want. Then I think that young people need meat and a balanced diet to grow up correctly.

  19. Hi!
Actually I'm already considering it. I have some friends whom decided to become either vegetarian nor vegan (the second is quite stricter than the first one, there is more restrictions) and not for "the trend" but for real moral reasons that I will expose you. The first and main one is compassion towards animals because even though we underestimate it they are capable of feeling pain. Moreover it prevents from diseases and reduces the global warming. Of course, there are too many reasons for becoming a vegetarian to present them all here. Therefore I've stopped all the red meat and tried to go little by little as for the other steps like dairy products. Because, unfortunately, I like it too much to stop all of a sudden and not crack two days later. Besides, I'm not the one who does the errands so for the moment I'm just trying to reduce my consumption and find out more about the subject, but when I'll live alone it will be easier I guess.

  20. I couldn't consider a change like that, eating what I like is important to me. But more precisely this can weaken you with a lack of protein.
Vegan and vegetarian say that you can have energy all while eating fruit and vegetables every day but I do not think so because when you're a person who practises a lot of sport the protein found in the meat and in the fish is important for health and energy you supply during the effort
    GoodBye

  21. Hello,
I'll teach you something: humans are omnivorous. That is, they need to feed on vegetables, but also on animal products to live in good health. However, it is good to know that to protect our health and environment, nothing should be abused. Indeed, if you eat too much meat, it's bad, but if you eat only vegetables, it's also bad.
But vegetarians and vegans are not the same. Vegetarians just eat a diet without meat (but with milk, egg, honey, etc.), while vegans do not eat anything from an animal, nor do they wear clothes of animal origin, and the same goes for cosmetics, for example. These last ones are for me much too strict and extreme.
About me, I will continue to eat meat because it's good and everyone needs it but I totally agree with slowing down my consumption.
Thank you for reading and goodbye
